Now that some parts of the house can be almost declared “done” I thought it might be fun to look back at how they have changed. First up is the master bedroom. Annoyingly I don’t have too many “before” images, but here are a few.
This was the simplest room to change. We just took up the carpet and painted the floor Farrow and Ball Strong White and chose Farrow and Ball Elephant’s Breath for the walls; a strangely named paint and quite a gentle but beautiful colour. Changed the light fitting and added some furniture.
After which it looked like this.
Love the result. Also I adore your antique blue bed, I think you now have it in another bedroom? I really like Elephant´s Breath, too, but the husband finds it too purple-ish. Men.
Yes the blue bed (an ebay purchase) is in the other bedroom now. The one in this room is actually an ikea sofa bed with a headboard I made from an off cut of kitchen work surface, some foam, fabric from designers guild and a staple gun. If you ever take it off the wall and see the back it looks awful, but fortunately no one ever does that!
I really like elephants breath too, a nice gentle colour. Could you tell me where you bought your yellow rug? I love it!
yes, it’s actually from Ikea!
